A single day on the slopes can be harsh on the skin. Add to that a whole season and it's time to give your skin some love. In my past life, I worked in the beauty industry so have tried countless products. On top of that, I have sensitive skin, so I'm always looking for products that are functional, but non-irritating. I like to use natural products as much as possible, although it can sometimes be a challenge with sun protection. Here are my picks for the top products for combating the elements.

PREP

Before you even head out, it's important to make sure your skin is nourished.

Hydrating Mist: Naturopathica Rose Geranium Soothing Mist refreshes and awakens the skin
Nourishing Face Oil: Naturopathica Carrot Seed Soothing Facial Oil adds a nice protective barrier; dab on a few drops and let absorb
Moisturizing Sunscreen: Ulta MD UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 is a dermatologist pick for a reason -- it goes on totally clear and works effectively on all skin types

PROTECT

Sun, wind, cold air. There's a lot for your skin to withstand on the mountain, so give it some help.

Face Balm: BRR! Winter Balm is the way to go here. All natural without any nasty ingredients like mineral oils or retinyl palmitate, this high performance balm creates a great protective barrier on the skin to protect it from cold.

RESTORE

After environmental exposure, give your skin a moisture boost to calm and reset.

Gentle Cleanser: Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Gel gets off all the balm residue, but doesn't strip away moisture
Nourishing Toner/Emulsion: May Coop Raw Sauce is made from maple tree sap. What could be better for life in the mountains!
Rich Moisturizer: Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream is designed for repairing skin after prolonged exposure to the elements and I love that it's from a Vermont brand
